TokyoRE.net is a Tokyo real estate portal operated by Bobby Dozier, a real estate consultant (and licensed real estate consultant in the state of Oklahoma, USA) working with PLATINUM, a Tokyo-based real estate brokerage and consulting firm.

We provide the following real estate consultancy:

  • Residential (buyers, sellers and investors of Tokyo properties)
  • Commercial (offices, retail shops, restaurants, bars and clubs, etc)
  • Distressed assets and other investment opportunities

Advantages of using Platinum and the consulting services we bring?  As opposed to the large Japanese real estate firms we act as YOUR advocate, looking after YOUR best interests.  For renters we negotiate prices and conditions, which certain brokerages cannot or will not do due to the many conflicts of interest (many represent a wide variety of sellers or own their own properties so strive to maximize the best interests of the opposite side, i.e. property owners).  We usually do not represent both sides of a transaction unless it facilitates the deal.

We do not “steer” our clients to certain properties like other brokerages do. Why do they do this?  Could be political reason or it could be a conflict of interest, perhaps they are getting an incentive from the owner of the property, want to close a deal ASAP as a property has been on its books a long time, getting pressure from property owner to get the deal closed and/or to do more showings for a particular property to make the brokerage look like it has many potential tenants for properties, etc.

Some of these real estate firms in Japan often will refuse to show you properties which are not represented by them on the owner’s side. It is highly likely that the property best suited for you is represented by another broker but you might not ever see it.  We can show you almost any apartment, house or office.
